Anti-aging Creams = Fake Promises?

Posted by: Mari Kai | Comments (0)

Anti-aging creams are now available everywhere. Actually, they have been on the shelves for quite some time now. In recent years, the numbers of these products have been growing. While some of these anti-aging creams have been verified to effectively reduce the appearance of aging, no anti-aging cream is able to completely eradicate these signs. If you are searching for the best anti-aging cream, read on it first and check what people have to say. After all, if you’re going to spend some of your hard-earned cash on something, might as well make sure that it’s worth it.

There are hundreds of products to choose from and finding the right one may be a bit daunting. To make things a little easier, check on the following before you make a choice:

  • Your skin type
  • The price you’re willing to pay for it
  • The feedback from the users and your dermatologist

There have been creams that have been proven to visibly reduce the common signs of aging. The active ingredients are ceramides and rice peptides. The former plumps up cells by adding moisture to them while the latter protects the skin from the ravages of the surrounding environment. The Revitol Anti Aging Cream, in particular, has been recommended by many dermatologists. What this does is reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and age-spots. Because it is a moisturizer, its job is also to soften the skin on your face. The sun’s rays are more dangerous now and protecting your skin from the sun’s damage should be the first on your list of priorities.

Take advantage of all new information and start your search for the anti-aging cream that suits you best. Just be certain that you read the ingredients because there are products out there that actually use chemicals that can eventually be harmful to your health. Supplement these products with a good diet. Take foods that are packed with vitamins and get a lot of mineral supplements. After all, what good is a youthful face when you don’t have the physical ability to back it up? No matter what anti-aging supplements you take, none of them can cancel out a poor diet or poor self-care habits. Work on yourself and make sure that you consider every area for your overall health. The best way to slow down aging is to actually enjoy the things you can do for as long as you can.

So in conclusion, does anti-aging creams equals false promises? No, if you know what you're buying. So learn more about anti-aging here to know which one works.

One of the phases in a woman's life that's dreadful is menopause. During that time, the hormone levels start to get out of whack causing various conditions. The level of these conditions is different with every woman. One common condition would be an irregular bleeding cycle. As time goes, it gets more irregular. Blood flow also changes drastically, for example, another common condition is getting hot flashes. Hot flashes is a the feeling of heat over the torso and reddish face and neck that happen in a short space of time. Some even have this at night when they're sleeping.

There are also mood swings and extreme fatique because of the inbalance in hormone levels. It's easy to get tired and the night sweats doesn't help because it makes sleeping harder. Even worse, although the body is under a lot of stress the fat levels increased because the hormonal change. So it's easier to get fat.

While most women view menopause as a required phase in their lives, some struggle to find relief from it's symptoms. First get your sense of humor back. A good laugh can always help lowering your stress level and enabling you to make wise decisions. The most important thing is to protect your body's health, the heart, bones, brain, and other things.

One of the most popular treatment is HRT, short for Hormone Replacement Treatment. Although some women reported that it works for them, there are studies that you have to take into consideration before picking HRT as your treatment. First of all, HRT increses your chances to have heart disease, stroke, thrombosis, breast and ovarian cancer and anything along that group of medical conditions.

Furthermore, the conditions that happen in menopause is not always directly connected with the lack of estrogen. So essentially, HRT is not a sure-fire guarantee that the conditions will all be gone in an instant. That's why many women tried to find an safer alternative for menopause relief, a couple of which is Menozac and Amberen. Check them out now. Coupled with a good multivitamin (I recommend this one, they're having a free trial so you can try out and if it doesn't suit your needs just cancel the free trial.)

One way to get a relief is to start a good healthy diet (with a plan), use the correct supplements (as mentioned above), get relaxed, and start a regular exercise routine. You can try implementing soya products in your daily diet, such as tofu, soya milk, tempeh, and etc.

The fact that these options are there for you is extremely good news. There is no substitute for learning to meet your body’s needs especially at the time of the menopause. After all, prevention is better than cure.

Researchers have attained some success in making discoveries in deciphering the human DNA. Just a few years back, this is considered too big of a project to be done. But technological progress now have made learning the human genes possible and applicable. Some of these research concluded that skin care products can be enhanced greatly by knowing the DNA sequences. This can make old skin to look as when you're young. Not only that, if you know the steps that our skin takes when they age on a molecular level, it will be far easier to know what can be done to halt, or perhaps even reverse those steps.

About 10 years ago, they started to apply genetic research results to skin care products. They have many various components to test out, seeing how each components interacts to the many types of skin. It's important to make sure that the effect have impact on the molecular level because it's the key to fight the aging process. If the effect is just skin deep, the effects wouldn't be permanent.

An interesting note is some of them have directed their research on the metabolization of lipids. Lipids are a substance produced by the body that enables us to have a healthy and young skin. This metabolism process decreases as we age and also very influenced in the environment. For instance, sun exposure can cause someone to age prematurely because it's harmful rays cut down the regenerative power of the skin.

Another course of research said that growing old is the cause of the lack of human growth hormone in the body. It governs everything that the body needs to grow, replace damaged cells, fixing damage, etc. The lack of it causes the body to lose the ability to repair the cellular damage to itself, hence growing old. Now this line of research spouts hgh supplements like this one that can help slow down age. Is it perfect? Far from it. But it's a good start.

Over the past many centuries, scientists and alchemists have tried to find a proper method and a cure for aging. While modern science has acknowledged and accepted many of these techniques, slowing down the aging process will work better if the remedy also influences the skin’s core.

Going through age can be torturing. While some feel that it's only a natural part of life, others are convinced that there's a loophole for them to stay young. At one point of life, everyone feel's the downside of age. It can be seen across your face and body. Well, you can't just stop time and remain status quo eternally, but you can slow down age if you know how.

If you're looking for a sign of age, skin is your answer. Skin can be influenced by a lot of things, such as, pollution, smoking, uv rays, etc, and can make you look older than your real age. The actual fact is, age effects the whole body. Why is that? Well, there's a thing called HGH, short for Human Growth Hormone, that's produced by the body. It's main duty is to make us grow and repair any damaged cells. HGH is produced less and less as you age, this is why we age since our damaged cells (wrinkles, blemishes, etc) is not repaired as fast and eventually, not repaired at all.

Although aging can be frightening for some, the right plan to slow down age is applicable. First, maintain a good healthy lifestyle. Diet, exercise, and many more (search my previous posts). Second, if you don't mind spending a bit extra, but a good supplement. For example, a good HGH supplement can go a long way. For example, there's hype on the internet about GHR1000, check it out.

So while you know that supplements can help you reverse the aging process, it's just as imperative for you to know which one will have the best chance of working for you. The first thing to do is to consult with your doctor to determine what to look for. They may know the best products available in the market and the latest technological developments that may be important to check on. So if you are seriously considering undergoing an anti-aging regimen, you need to have a clear understanding of the factors that affect your own aging. The best ones for you are those that match your work habits and lifestyle.

  3. Wrinkles and sagging skin: All of the above. Omega 3 and Vitamins help to firm the skin, based on research.

Now, where do those come from? There are many sources. For example, fish meat are rich in Omega-3, chicken eggs (the one with omega 3 in it), etc. In New Zealand, the Maori people used green-lipped mussel from the clear waters of their islands as a rich source of protein, vitamins and minerals. Apparently they contain not only Omega 3, but also Vitamins E. Further studies also proves green-lipped mussel can help you in inflammation, joint pain, heart disease, arthritis, etc. You can find those in a couple of places, for instance click here.

Have you heard about Botox? Nowadays, you hear about botox shots all the time. Makes you wonder isn't it? What exactly is Botox and how does it really work? The general view of Botox is a miracle injection that supposedly solve your age problems. Some people are fanatical about it, some think it's a big joke. There's also opinions that said that if you get Botox-ed, you will lose the ability to express feelings on your face. Let's dig out more about Botox and find out the truth behind it.

Botox is extracted from Botulinum toxin. Back when it's discovered, it's intended to be a medication for neurological disorders. Things progressed, and in 1989 that FDA approved Botox as a treatment for eye muscle disorders and wrinkles. Skip to the year 2000, FDA approved it's usage for cervical dystonia medication (terrible neck and shoulder contractions). Somewhere along the line of test and studies, they found out that using Botox lessen the frown line in the face. That triggers a big development of it. Now it's one of the most progressive division in the cosmetic industry.

Now to know how Botox work, let's review how wrinkles develop in our face. Each time we use our facial muscles, this generate wrinkles. Now, given time and lack of skin elasticity as you age, this facial muscle contractions will eventually leave a permanent mark in our face. When Botox is injected to the wrinkle area it paralyse the facial muscles so you can't really use them. This is why after a botox shot people lose some ability to use the muscles, hence making them look like a statue. With 4-5 months of effect, the lack of usage of that muscle can soften the wrinkles it formed. Unfortunately, our body is really adaptive, so after 4-5 months, it develops a new muscle usage configuration and you have to get another shot.

While some maybe okay with it, Botox is expensive. The average price for one injection is about $300. With larger surface area and how much wrinkles that you want to remove, it can cost up to $900 or even $1500 per shot. Very expensive.

Is it completely safe? Of course not. There're risks. Because it's a toxin, you can jeopardize your health if it spreads in your body. But of course, that's if you're allergic to it's ingredients.

Maintain Your Body Even When You Age

Posted by: Mari Kai | Comments (0)

With age comes changes, physically and mentally. Usually when people experienced that they try to keep theirselves active and in shape. Aging can't be avoided, our body is bound to start losing nutrients and vitamins that it required to be strong and healthy. A good idea is taking daily supplements. The other important, but sometimes overlooked thing is exercise.

Our daily habit needs to be maintained. Usually, getting old means that we have an inclination of slowing down. Slowing down means stiff bones, muscles, and just about everything else that goes with it. This is why it's important to have a systematic plan for health. For example, you can set up a group exercise program. With many people it'll be more enjoyable and chances are you're be more spirited on doing it. Doing regular exercises can help you to shed those accumulating weight and tone your muscles.

A reminder when you plan a new exercise program is that you have to take it one step at a time. The last thing your need is overexerting your muscles. Watch your speed and pace. And always begin with some sort of stretching and ends with cool downs. Granted, the result is not instant but in time you will reap the benefits.

If you have difficulties in setting your exercises you should consult your physician. He or she can recommend good forms of exercises and diet plan. Obesity can cause many problems in your body, so a good diet plan is a must. One of the biggest risk you face in getting older is diabetes. That's why as you get older, weigh the amount of carbs, fats and proteins in your daily food intake. It sounds difficult at first, but you can manage it by designing menu cards or just get a book like this one.

Research have proved that when you get older there's a tendency for your body fat to go over 30%. That can put a lot of strain on your muscles, joints and bones. This is the primary cause of the sluggish, tired feeling when you're old. It's not the age, it's the whole package that comes with it. So it's important to maintain a positive outlook and attitude towards your body as you age.

You can control the aging process if you work on it. It's like putting a weight to the clock's hands so it'll run slower. When you stop exercising, you lose muscle tissue and gain more fat. That will weaken your body systems and organs. Our immune system can also be compromised, which is not good. And if there's no proper care/exercise, when you're 50 or above, your muscle tissue loss will accelerate making you weak and disabled.

The key is, you can avoid all this with a good exercise program. Strength training, although many think is just for body builders, can have great benefits. This can slow down your body degeneration and makes you enjoy health for a long time. Your body is like a machine designed to be active, and you can make it run smooth by oiling it from time to time. Take responsibility on your health and take that first step to be the best that you can be!

Beware Osteoporosis: Are You at Risk?

Posted by: Mari Kai | Comments (0)

Osteoporosis, by definition, is an abnormal loss of bony tissue resulting in fragile porous bones. Basically, in layman's term that would mean the bones have holes that makes them brittle. It's easy to be fractured and/or broken.

Our bones is a vital part of our whole body system. It's basically the foundation on which our body is built. The two principal components of it are calcium phosphate and collagen protein . They work together enabling the bone to be sturdy. Our body actually have a kind of repair system that fixes our bones, which unfortunately grows weaker as we age. That's why the most common victim of osteoporosis are older women from the late 30s above.

One more factor to be noticed is most of these females are post menopausal women. To this date, there's a lot of women that have osteoporosis. The numbers keep on adding up every year, and this calls for older women to be watchful about their bone health. Consider these factors for this malady.

First, are you 30+ years and postmenopausal? The menopause period is accompanied with hormonal disorders that can trigger osteoporosis. The second one is hereditary. If women in your family have a long history of osteoporosis it'll be more likely that you will develop the same condition if there's no precaution taken. I'm sure that anyone would want to prevent than to cure. Regarding osteoporosis, there are things that you can do to avoid them. All of which have to do with being watchful on keeping your bone healthy when you're younger. You can minimize your risks by doing these things:

Regular calcium intake, exercise, regular checkup, avoid junk food when you can, avoid smoking and drinking, eat healthy, drink milk regularly. There. Easy isn't it? Although doing it takes effort and some discipline.  To do that, let me give you some examples. For instance good amount of calcium products be included in your daily diet whether you're young or old. Most people enjoy milk, teach your sons and daughters to enjoy drinking milk daily. What are examples of calcium products? We have yogurt, milk, cheese, ice cream, green and leafy vegetables, fish like salmon and sardines, dry fruits like almonds, juices and squash. Exercise your bones with proper movements. This will prepare them to take in some form of tension later in your life. Yes, it's a bit much. For you with hectic schedules, you can try using a osteoporosis multivitamin support like this one. That should be easier to manage.

When you begin experiencing neck pain and lower back ache, have yourself checked by the doctor. Osteoporosis, when left untreated, can deform the curve of your spine. The things you once were able to do will no longer be possible because you can now easily break your bones.  As it is always said, prevention is much better than cure.
