Maintain The Glow on Your Skin

When we are still young, we are strong, full of life and healthier. The same principle applies to our skin. Younger skin tends to retain its healthy and vibrant glow even in the harshest and most difficult situations. Because it is very elastic, it will always feel nice, firm, and soft to touch. At a younger age, we are usually more resistant to things that can easily damage our health such as prolonged exposure to the sun, inadequate rest, abusive diet, smoking and many others. At a tender age, our skin too is in a better position to repair and regenerate itself in case of any bruises. In other words the healing power of our skin is at its peak when we are young.

This age defying power of your skin deteriorates as you grow older. This means that your skin will never be in position to repair and regenerate itself as quickly and effectively as it once did. As a result the observable signs of aging start to appear on your skin. Gradually, your once youthful glow fades away. The reason behind these changes is that the strength of the repair cells within your skin is diminishing. Subsequently, your body’s bio chemicals begin to lose their inner balance, thus making you more prone to environmental assaults. Age spots and wrinkles set in and your once smooth and clear skin is gone.

As if thats not enough, you will develop a dry skin, something that the oils you once had on your face helped to prevent. Pimples will not be an issue anymore because your skin now holds negligible amount of oil responsible for their appearance. If you have a dry skin, you will probably experience or see the following.

Feeling of tightness after a bathe or a swim
Rough looking skin
Patches of discoloration
Itching in different areas on your face
Flaking or peeling
Fine lines and wrinkles
Deep fissures that can sometimes bleed

Some of the methods people use to keep their skin looking young are: the use of facial scrubs or peels to remove old dead skin. What you need to know though is that the acid present in these skin peels can as well be dangerous to your skin. Some people who are already aware of this have opted for moisturizing creams and lotions. Although this option works, it takes a longer time and when the moisturizer is gone; your skin becomes wrinkled and dries again.

Remember, looking great starts from how you feel about yourself. You need to have a good opinion about yourself and self confident about the way you look. If the beach is one of your favourite spots, watch out for potential damage from the sun. Use protective creams while staying in the sun and, avoid sunbathing for long. Visit a dermatologist once in a while. They can help you get to know your skin better and offer some suggestions about how best you can protect your skin especially when it comes to skin care products.

Also keep in mind that going for a cosmetic surgery is not the only option you have got today. More simpler and painless choices are readily available now. An example is nourishing your body daily with minerals and vitamins. The highly recommended is vitamin C. Set up simple, realistic and achievable goals because you deserve to spoil yourself just a little as you grow older. You are what you are and nobody is going to take that away from you. You are unique and beautiful. You have all the reasons to look and feel good about yourself. They say age is just a number. As for you, look at it further as being wiser and more knowledgeable about life. A good feeling about your face will not go unnoticed since you will show it by the way you handle yourself. You are the kind of person people will come to admire.
