The Ugly side of Spree Drinking

Tomorrow will take care of its self is what many say. What they forget though is the repercussions of this irresponsible way of thinking and doing things. As you grow old, you pay a hefty price for the negligent lifestyle you lead in the past. Nothing comes the easy way, since you cannot do everything you were able to while still young. Even a mere hangover from a party sometimes takes long to clear, let alone managing your weight. Any slight mistake with your diet backfires gravely. You simply need a lifestyle change. Thats it.

A couple of year ago, you were accustomed to eating yo-yo foods. Losing and regaining the same number of pounds over and over again affects the metabolic rate and calorie-burning power of your body. Although you may initially lose a lot, your chances get dimmer to lose in the future as you become sterner with what you eat. This habit of eating compromises your bodys long-term immune function. Even if the facts are not yet clear enough, experts have it that losing and gaining weight lowers the activity of cells that not only fight colds and infection, but kill cancer as well. Fortunately, this is something you can still overcome. You only have to change your lifestyle, keep fit, and muster-up your commitment and will power to keep on the right track.

Those tequila-shots you take can be very disastrous to your health. Going on a drinking spree where you down a dozen glasses of drinks at ago, drink to until you go nuts, increases your risk of becoming an addict. It also affects the ability of your memory as excessive amounts of alcohol kill brain neurons. The other effect of binge drinking is on your liver. The initial phase of liver damage is the fatty live stage here some fat deposits may occur in your liver because of the booze. As you tank more alcohol, it progresses to hepatitis stage which bulges your liver accelerating the occurrence of severe jaundice. The third and last stage is the cirrhosis stage where you could risk succumbing to liver cancer which may necessitate a transplant.

The risk of women succumbing to alcoholic diseases is twice as high as their male counterparts. Were you an ardent follower of the all-night, drowning-drinks-with-the-gals outings? You cant begin to imagine what you put on the line because of this fascination. You are still in the safe zone as long as you quit your binge escapades before you were in either of the first two stages. You dont have to drink until you reach those stages though. You may not be able to afford the medication, let alone turning back the hands of time. If you drink moderately, however, chances are that your liver has healed itself since those crazy days. If your memory abilities are not as effective as those days, lose hope. Studies of recovering alcoholics suggest that when you quit those bouts of drinking, you can regain memory function even without the missing brain cells.

As long as you keep your drinking habits in check, especially now that you are growing old, you will be saving yourself of a lot of needless troubles. Life will be a lot more fun. you will also find yourself actively involved in doing the things that make you happy.
